Located at the northernmost end of the Great Sandy National Park, Carlo Sand Blow is the start of the Cooloola Great! Walk, which is a five-day Trek to Noosa North Shore.
From the smallish carpark, there is an easy short trek to the Sand Blow. Once here, it is rather impressive at how big it is, and how much wind blows through. The Sand Blow is a popular spot for sand tobogganing and kite surfing. Because of this and the limited parking, it is advised to visit the Sand Blow early. The views from the Sand Blow are impressive, with the views of the ocean and Double Island Point in one direction, while from the back the views are of the Great Sandy National Park, the Toolara Forest and rolling hills as far as the eye can see.
Overall, the Carlo Sand Blow is a fantastic little walk with impressive views and somewhere with ample space for activities. For further information, visit the Department of Parks and Forests website.
