Ewen Maddock Dam

Inland from Caloundra, nearby to the town of Landsborough, is Ewen Maddock Dam. Forming a part of the South-East Queensland water grid, this dam and its surrounding area is a picturesque place to go for a swim, hike, horse ride or mountain bike ride. These are just a small sample of activities available at Ewen Maddock.

For instance, there is a BBQ and swimming area, and there is also a small playground for the little ones to keep entertained. Near the playground is the start to the 9 kilometres of multi-use hiking trails. These trails are of varying lengths and difficulties that circumnavigate the dam. At the start, there is a short timber boardwalk with a viewing platform. Here the views of the Glasshouse Mountains reflect off the water below you. Subsequently, you can then skirt the waters edge while taking in the hinterland views and the terrific bushland. To that end, there are plenty of trails, especially for beginners, with the added bonus of having a cooling swim afterwards. As a result, Ewen Maddock is a worthwhile destination to visit.
