Kathleen MacArthur Conservation Reserve

The Kathleen MacArthur Conservation Reserve is a hiding in plain sight hidden gem of a conservation reserve, located on the Wurtulla side of Currimundi Lake.

This conservation reserve has a couple of walking tracks that take you through some of the most beautiful sand dune-based woodlands around. There is one track that takes you along the edge of the reserve, where there are a couple of viewing areas with bench seating that overlook the creek. This shorter trail eventually ends at Lake Currimundi. The other way takes you deeper into the reserve, ending at the beach. Dotted along the trails are information signs describing the local flora and fauna, and their impact on the reserve. Either way, you get to see an awesome display of natural sandy bushland. As an added bonus, you can go swimming at the end of your bushwalk! Win-win!

Additionally, further information can be found on the Dept. of Parks and Forests website.
